Three golf cruises

1. AmaWaterways

River cruise company AmaWaterways has again teamed up with IAGTO golf tour operator LGT Golf (lgtgolf.com) to operate a Concierge Golf programme in 2019, featuring Danube cruises with golf on five championship courses in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary on its 10-night cruises between Prague and Budapest, including a three-night pre- or post-stay in Prague. Seven-night voyages, playing four rounds, go between Vilshofen and Budapest. Both itineraries also operate in the reverse direction.

Courses played are: Albatross Golf Club’s Albatross Course, venue for the Czech Open; Germany’s Hartl Resort Beckenbauer Course, host of the Porsche European Open; Austria’s Diamond Country Club, host of the Lyoness Austrian Open on its Diamond Course; the Legend Course at Slovakia’s Penati Country Club, host of the Slovakian Open; and Hungarian Open venue, Budapest’s Pannonia Country Club.

The Concierge Golf programme, run by LGT Golf staff, includes pre-arranged tee times, transfers, golf trolleys, lunch in the clubhouse, club cleaning and a welcome pack with course guides, a dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls and a leather shoe bag. Golfers can take part in a River Cruise Order of Merit, with the three best scores in both the men’s and women’s division at the end of the year winning prizes, including a free golf tour the following year.
